Sports club “Ikarus” was founded in 1928 when first
gliders were made in the country. Football and chess club were
established in 1946. Sports club “Nasa krila” was founded in 1948 with
clubs for football, hand-ball, table-tennis, chess, rowing, box and
rugby. Over time, due to poor financial situation and emergence of
professional sport, the membership waned and the clubs slowly
disappeared.
The decision to renew the activities of Sports Club “Nasa krila” was
made at the Founding Assembly held on 20 November 1995. The club
currently has four sections:
Football, chess, shooting and ski.
The sections participate in many workers’ sports competitions on an
annual basis. They also organize tournaments at newly refurbished courts
of “Ikarbus” Sports Center.
Major sports events in which Sports Club “Nasa krila” regularly
participates and receives recognitions, cups and awards are:
• Workers’ meetings in Canj
• Road competition
• Summer metal workers’ Olympics
• Winter metal workers’ Olympics
